What Is Foro GNP Seguros?

Foro GNP Seguros — known for years as Pepsi Center WTC — is Mexico City's most important entertainment venue for concerts and mass events. With capacity for over 22,000 people, it's the destination for top international artists visiting CDMX.

Artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Bad Bunny, Metallica, BTS, Adele, and virtually every world-class artist that includes Mexico on their tour have performed here. If you have tickets for an event in CDMX, there's a high chance it's here.

The venue is located in the Nápoles neighborhood, within the World Trade Center Ciudad de México complex. From Roma and Condesa, where Marimbas properties are located, it's a very manageable distance.

How to Get There from Roma-Condesa

Foro GNP is approximately 3-5 km from Roma Norte and Condesa. You have several options:

Metro (most practical option): Line 9 (brown) is your best ally. From Chilpancingo station (on Insurgentes, very close to Roma) take Line 9 toward Pantitlán and get off at Centro Médico or Etiopía/Plaza de la Transparencia. From there it's a 5-8 minute walk to the WTC. Total journey is 10-15 minutes. Alternative: take Line 3 from Insurgentes to Etiopía.

Metrobús (Line 1): The Metrobús runs along Insurgentes from north to south. Get on at any Insurgentes station near your property and get off at the World Trade Center stop. Very direct and drops you practically at the venue entrance.

Uber/Taxi: The journey is 10-20 minutes depending on traffic (CDMX can have heavy traffic especially on concert nights). Cost varies between $60-120 MXN from Condesa. Important: for the return, Ubers get saturated around the Foro at the end of the event. Walk a couple of blocks before requesting your ride to avoid the chaos.

Walking + Metro combined: You can walk from Condesa to Insurgentes (10 min) and take the metrobús or metro from there. It's the most comfortable combination for a relaxed journey.

Inside the Venue: What to Know Before You Arrive

Arrival: Arrive at least 45-60 minutes early. Security checks in CDMX are strict and lines can be long. Top-tier artists usually start on time.

Access and security:

  • Keep bags and purses to a minimum — checks are thorough.
  • Professional cameras (with detachable lenses) are not permitted. Cell phones are fine.
  • Sealed water bottles are generally allowed upon entry.
  • Glass items are not permitted.

Food and drinks: The Foro has bars and food stalls on all levels. Prices are high (as in any venue of this category). If you plan to have dinner, do it beforehand in Roma or Condesa — there are dozens of options at reasonable prices and the dining experience is infinitely better.

Parking: The WTC has its own parking, but on concert days it fills up hours early and exit traffic can take up to 1 hour. Metro or Uber are clearly superior options.

Venue layout: The Foro has floor level (general/numbered), side boxes, and suites. The best views of the main stage are on the floor or in the front boxes. Check the seating map when buying your ticket.

Before and After the Concert in Roma-Condesa

One of the advantages of staying in Roma or Condesa is that you have CDMX's best food and nightlife scene literally at your doorstep. Take advantage of it:

Dinner before the concert: Both neighborhoods have options for all tastes and budgets. For a relaxed dinner before the show, reserve a table in advance — the most popular Roma and Condesa restaurants tend to be full on weekends. Look for options on Orizaba, Álvaro Obregón, or Avenida Ámsterdam streets.

Drinks after the concert: Roma Norte has some of CDMX's best cocktail bars. Condesa has more bar and terrace options. Transport from the Foro back to the neighborhoods is very easy, so you can return and continue the night without worries.

Weeknight concert? Many concerts are Tuesday through Thursday. Roma and Condesa have options open any day of the week — cafés, restaurants, and bars that operate normally on weekday evenings.

Other CDMX Venues Worth Knowing

If your event is at another CDMX venue, here's a summary of the main ones and how to get there from Roma-Condesa:

  • Palacio de los Deportes — Olympic venue in the east of the city. Metro Line A, Ciudad Deportiva station. From Roma: ~30 min by metro (Line 1 + transfer).
  • Foro Sol — The stadium inside the autódromo. Metro Line 9, Ciudad Deportiva station. Same destination as the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
  • Estadio Azteca — South of the city, in Coyoacán. Metro Line 2 to Tasqueña, then light rail to Estadio Azteca. ~45 min from Roma.
  • Auditorio Nacional — On Paseo de la Reforma, 2 km from Bosque de Chapultepec. Metrobús Line 7 from Insurgentes or taxi/Uber (~15 min from Condesa). One of CDMX's most beautiful venues for medium-sized concerts.
  • Teatro Metropólitan / Lunario del Auditorio — For more intimate shows. Teatro Metropólitan is in the historic center (~30 min from Roma by Uber). The Lunario is next to the Auditorio Nacional.
